Part 3 of my story

It was time for dinner.  Andy was sitting at the table with her mom and Jessie, waiting for her dad to come in. She couldn’t wait. Everything was ready; she had the worms in her pocket. She just needed her dad to come in. Oh hurry up! I can’t wait much longer. Just then her dad came in.
“Finally,” she said, more to herself then her family. “It’s about time.”
“So, what’s for dinner tonight?” asked Andy’s dad.
“Pasta,” said Andy “Can I dish it out?”
“Of course you can,” said Andy’s mom. “This is a surprise; next you’ll be wanting to wash the dishes.”
“Oh, I can wash the dishes tonight,” said Andy. “I’d be glad to.”
“Whoa, that’s too much. What are you up to?” asked her dad.
“Nothing,” said Andy. “I just want to help out.”
“Well, if you want to, that’s fine with me,” said her mom. “Then I don’t have to do it.”
“Can we start dinner?” asked Jessie. “I’m starved.”
“Yes, we can,” said Andy, starting to dish out her own pasta, “I am too.”
She walked around the table, giving pasta to her mom and then her dad. Then she came to Jessie. She put the pasta on Jessie’s plate. How do I do this? Oh, I know.
“Look Jessie! There’s a cool butterfly out the window!” said Andy.
“Oh that’s so cool!” said Jessie, getting up and going over to the window.
Andy took the worms out of her pocket, and put them on Jessie’s plate; then she used Jessie’s fork to stir it up so that Jessie wouldn’t realize that there were worms in it. Then she went and sat down at the table.
“Hey, Jessie, come over here so that we can eat,” said Andy.
“Okay,” said Jessie, coming over to sit at the table and picking up her fork to take a bite. “Yum!”
Andy was having trouble trying not to laugh out loud.
“Andy? What are you doing?” asked her mom.
“Nothing,” said Andy. “May I be excused?”
“Yes, you may. But remember that you said you would wash the dishes.”
“I will,” said Andy.
“Okay,” said her mom. “Come in here to wash the dishes in 45 minutes.”
“I will,” said Andy, walking over to the steps and starting to walk upstairs. “See you then.”
That was so funny! I just hope she doesn’t realize that she’s eating worms. Andy went into her room. What should I do for 45 minutes? I guess I could practice the flute, but that won’t be fun. I guess I will anyway. So Andy went and took her flute out of her case and started practicing. She was pretty good, but Jessie didn’t think so. She barged into Andy’s room.
“Will you stop it?” Jessie asked. “It’’s really annoying.”
“I really need to practice,” said Andy. “Oh, by the way. Did you like dinner?”
Uh, yeah,” said Jessie. “Why?”
“I was just wondering,” said Andy.
“Andy!” her mom called. “Come down here and wash the dishes!”
“I’m coming!” said Andy.
She started to go downstairs.
“Stay out of my room!” said Andy. “And don’t touch my flute!”

Part 2 of my story

It was two hours later, and Andy was outside in the garden digging for worms. She had a simple plan for that night; she had asked her mom if they could have pasta for dinner, and her mom had said yes. When it was time for dinner she would offer to dish out the pasta. She would have worms in her pocket, and when she gave Jessie hers she would slip the worms into it. Then Jessie would eat the worms. Just thinking about eating worms made Andy shiver, but it was the perfect revenge.
“What are you doing Andy?” asked her mom.
“Oh, I’m watering the garden,” said Andy, hurriedly picking up a watering can. “Oh, I just ran out of water, I’ll be right back.”
Andy walked around to the front of the house to pretend to fill up the watering can but then she thought: I’d better actually fill it up in case mom comes to see where I am. So she filled the watering can, but then she ran inside to her bedroom to put the worms there until dinner. Then she ran outside to water the garden. Just wait until tonight, I think my plan is going to work.

I hope you like it!

A story that I am writing

I am writing a story! I don't have a name for it yet, but I am going to put the first paragraph on here. Please comment if you like it.

Chapter 1

“Hey, Jessie! Come here!” said Andy Walker. “It’s time to go!”
Andy was a 10 year old girl with brown hair and blue eyes; she had two siblings, Jessie and Tom, who were twins and both 8 years old.
“I’ll be there in a minute,” said Jessie. “I just found a really cool butterfly!”
Siblings, they can be so annoying. We’re going to be late meeting Anna. Anna was Andy’s best friend, but Jessie always insisted on coming with her to meet Anna, who lived just down the street from her.
“If you don’t come right now I’m going without you,” said Andy.
“Now Andy,” said her mom who had been watching them through the window, “you need to bring Jessie with you.”
“But mom why?” grumbled Andy. “Why can’t I go alone just once to see Anna? It’s really annoying to have my sister following me everywhere.”
“Maybe you can go over alone soon, but for today I need you to take her with you.”
“Why?” said Andy.
“Because Tom isn’t here, and I need to clean the house up. It’s a disaster, especially Jessie and Tom’s room.”
Tom was at a weeklong sleep away soccer camp so he wasn’t there.
“Oh, alright,” said Andy, “but next time I want to go alone.”
Andy decided that she was going to get back at Jessie for getting her way, and it was going to be tonight. A plan was already forming in her mind.
“Okay,” said her mom. “Thanks for going with her today.”
“Huh? Oh yeah, you’re welcome,” said Andy.
“Are you okay?” asked Andy’s mom.
“Yeah, fine,” said Andy. “Come on now Jessie. We need to go, we’re already 10 minutes late.”
Jessie walked over to Andy.
“I’m ready to go,” said Jessie. “Come on we’ll be late!”
She has some nerve saying that to me after what she did, but she’ll be sorry tonight.

I hope you like it! I will be posting more of it soon.

I'm sorry that I haven't been posting. (I say that a lot) But I have been really busy! The Music Man is over. :( It went really well, and it was really fun! Now I don't have anything to do until September. I'm really excited because dance classes start in 1 month! I don't know if I have already said this, but, I LOVE dance! Sorry!

I'm so sorry that I haven't been writing on blog, but I have been really busy. I was doing a dance camp, and opening night for The Music Man is on Thursday! I've had practices almost every night. My dance camp was really fun! It was at my dance school, so I knew a lot of the people who did it. We learned 3 dances to show our parents at the end of the week (yesterday), we learned a modern dance, a hip-hop dance, and a jazz dance. My favorite was the hip-hop dance. My sister took a video of the dances. I will post one of them soon (if she'll let me).

The Music Man, Dance Camp (and other stuff)

Happy Fourth of July everyone!
I'm so sorry that I haven't been posting. I really try to write often! I know that I posted and then deleted the post. It was because I didn't realize that I had already done a post that was almost exactly the same.
I'm having a really fun time doing The Music Man! I just learned that I am in the band, even though it's supposed to be a boys band. I know a lot of people haven't seen The Music Man, but it is a really good movie! I am doing The Music Man with Avon Grove Community Theater (A.C.T.).
I'm doing a dance camp in a few days. I'm really excited! (I know I say that about everything, but I am!)

Sorry! (And Camping)

I'm so sorry that I haven't been posting, but I was camping! We went to New Germany State Park in MD.
While we were there we also went to Deep Creek Lake State Park, Herrington Manor State Park, Swallow Falls State Park, Fort Fredrick State Park, and Dan's Mountain State Park. All of them where also in MD. My family does a thing called Park Quest. Park Quest is in the MD. state parks. The park rangers at the MD. parks set up a quest for people to do. When you are done you get a stamp in a little book that they give you. If you get ten stamps you can go to the thing at the end. All of the parks that we went to except Swallow Falls we did a park quest. This is our second time doing it. Last year we only did three or four park quests, so we didn't go to the thing at the end. I hope we can this year!

The Music Man

I am in The Music Man! I'm in the girl's chorus. There are a ton of practices because the shows are in the end of July (only two months). In June there is a practice every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday (I don't know if I will have to be at all of them). The read through was last Tuesday and the first practice was last Thursday.

Baking!

Today I made a recipe called: Pineapple Right-Side Up Cupcakes. I haven't tried them yet. We're going to have them for dessert. Here is the recipe. It is from the cookbook called Vegan Cupcakes Take Over The World by Isa Chandra Moskowitz and Terry Hope Romero:

Ingredients
For the cupcakes:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 cup crushed pineapple (in its own juice)
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 12 maraschino cherries or fresh rasberries for garnish
For the topping:
  • 1 cup crushed pineapple (in its own juice)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon tapioca flour, cornstarch, or arrowroot
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
To make the cupcakes:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.  Line a muffin pan with cupcake liners.
  2. Sift the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, ginger, and allspice into a large bowl.
  3. Combine the pineapple, oil, sugar, and vanilla in a blender and puree.  Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and add the wet ingredients. Mix well; there my be some pineapple clumps that weren't pureed and that's fine.
  4. Pour batter into cupcake liners so that they are just over half full.  You need to leave some space after they rise because the pineapple topping is gooey (in a good way).  Bake for 25 to 27 minutes.
  5. Let cupcakes cool for about 10 minutes.  Then move then to a cutting board or tray that will fit in your fridge.
To make the topping:
  1. Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan.  Bring to a boil, and stir constantly for about 30 seconds.  Bring the heat down to low and stir for 1 more minute.  Immediately use a tablespoon to scoop the topping onto the cupcakes.  The topping will spread but you can help it along with the back of the spoon.  Place a raspberry or maraschino cherry in the center of each cupcake.
  2. Place in the fridge for about 30 minutes or until ready to serve.
Notes: These are supposed to make 12 cupcakes but it made 9 for me.

Ingredients

Flour

Pineapple in the blender
